This is the first page of my Life Journal. My friend Robyn & I have been talking about doing this for a while and last weekend we took the plunge. We were having our Stamping & Skyping on Saturday and had been card making but I was having an 'off' day where things just weren't working for me. Robyn had sent me a link to a journal site and after checking it out we thought today was the day to start.
We don't really know what we are doing so we just started going with whatever felt right. Robyn's page reflects her mood as it was a rainy day at her house, mine reflected where I live...in the tropics. We used Tim Holtz Distress Inks & a Gelly Plate we had both been given for our birthdays from another friend to create our our background. I started off with blue and yellow, a colour combo I like. We then made some stencils using border dies, a lattice die and a plastic shopping bag scrunched up (the purple colour). I then stamped some text randomly.
I tore some 'text' paper and stuck it down with Mod Podge then coloured the paper with a bit of Distress Ink. I stamped some images that reflect my part of the world and words that I think are important in life around the page. I then wrote what came to my mind when I read those words. Then painted the whole page with Mod Podge to seal it, while it was still wet I sprinkled a bit of glitter lightly over the page.
