Shine Bright....

Happy Saturday Peeps! It is terribly hot here in Far North Oz! So my friend Robyn & I are locked away in my craft room with the Air Conditioner on...it's that bad we dread walking outside for whatever reason. Anyhoo...back to my card. Today I have made a special card for our neighbour who is 50 and having a party tonight to celebrate.

I have made an easel card for her, I don't make them too often but I felt it needed to be a bit extra special for a milestone birthday and I have used the latest sketch from Cardabilities for my layout and I have just let my DP determine my colour combo.

I'm also really happy to be able to use my new stamp set Sparkle & Shine with matching die from WPlus9....I really love their stamps, they stamp so nice and I have been itching to use this set. I tell you this card has everything...well for me anyway as I gravitate to CAS cards. I not only have background stamping (the text) I've also added some texture paste that I coloured (this is huge for me lol) then layered with lace, leaves and flowers, it's just all happening. lol. Well I'm off to make an envelope for my card, hope your weekend is off to a great start, until next time....happy stamping.

Heart Frame

Hello Fellow Crafty friends, I was able to spend most of my Saturday with my good friend Robyn who is in town at the moment which was the highlight of my weekend. For this stamping Saturday, I took up the challenge from the DT at Just Add Ink who had the photo inspiration below to work with and the latest sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday. I was also lucky enough to be able to use a new Happy Birthday stamp from Close to my Heart and Robyn's 'heart' dies. It's nice and CAS but I'm really happy with the end result. Hope you have all had a great weekend and thanks for popping in.

Life is a Journey Not a Destination - Tag

Well I'm on a roll today! Now I am even further ahead of our ABC challenge. I have made my 'D' tag using the latest Tim Holtz February Challenge as my layout.

For this theme I have chosen 'Destination' and I chose to do a male orientated Tag. I love this ship stamp and I'm so happy my 'This is the Life' sentiment stamped perfectly onto my Mod Podge coating that I had applied before I thought about stamping the sentiment on. It actually brought it up so crisp and I am wrapped!

Well, I think that's it for me today. I hope your weekend has had a great start and I'll catch you next time.

ABC Challenge - 'D'

Colour in my Life - Tag

I know I'm a bit early but I have made my 'C' tag for our little ABC Challenge that my friend Robyn is running. As you can probably tell my theme for 'C' is COLOUR!

I picked some bright DI colours (Fired Brick-Broken China-Mustard Seed-Dusty Concord) and blotched them onto my card making sure the colours didn't mix too much. After letting them dry I stamped some chevrons with Weathered Wood just to give the background some body.
I've then stamped my sentiment and die cut it with an Oval die and layered it onto a scalloped oval die....added some sequins (first time using them!) and a bit of fairy glitter to the paint brushes (even though it went every where else too)  to give it a bit of a lift.

Thanks for stopping by....until next time, happy stamping.
