Happy Birthday

My second card for the day and it's not the 21st card it should be...after going through my stash of cards I realized I had a suitable card off I went on another tangent and made my first card for a new challenge blog I was told about....The Cutting Edge. They want you to follow the photo prompt and use some sort of die on your card and this is my creation. I also like the latest colour combo over at Colour Throwdown which really suited The Cutting Edge's theme. So make sure you pop on over and check out the other great cards created for these challenges and until next time....happy stamping.

Kick Up Your Heels

It's been a few weeks since I have played at my desk and it feels good to be creating. I have been asked to make a 21st birthday card for my young cousin....she is such a lovely girl. Next weekend is a big party to celebrate her special day. I saw an awesome card posted below made by Ros on Pinterest that was so pretty I had to case it and this is my end result. I am very happy with it after a bit of toing and froing....thanks for the inspiration Ros. Well I'm off to make another card for this beautiful girl for us to give to her....thanks for popping in.

A quick post this morning before I go to work...I made this card late Saturday but didn't get a chance to post it. Sparkles Christmas Challenge want Snowflakes so I have stamped some snowflakes and punched some snowflakes in the colours that Just Add Ink have in their latest challenge. I like simple Christmas cards because you have to make so many and this one is definitely you all have a great week.

Merry Christmas, Chocolate Baroque inspired.... I don't know where this card came from but then again I do because I used the photo inspiration from the very first Chocolate Baroque colour challenge. The thing is this is not a card I would pull out of my hat but I really liked the photo inspiration so I thought I would have a go and this is the end result. I must admit I am very pleased with myself...I know it's a bit basic compared to the ladies that have this style down pat but being my first attempt, the only way is up! lol
Well my stamping Saturday is coming to a close...I hope you all have a great weekend, until next time, happy stamping!

Aussie Christmas

Another Christmas card for my stash...yippee...for this card I used the photo inspiration from Festive Friday, I must admit I really struggle with making Christmas cards with snow and the like as in Australia, Christmas for us is smack bang in the middle of our summer and as a rule it is stinking hot!! A lot of our Christmas days are spent around a swimming pool or even the beach or river, anywhere where we can cool off. So even though I used the photo inspiration I put an Aussie spin too it. I have had this truck for many years and I still love using him as I feel it has an Aussie feel to it. I'm also entering my card to this weeks challenge over at Winter Wonderland  where they have an Anything Goes theme this month. As always, thanks for stopping by...

Winter Wonderland: Anything Goes for Xmas

Merry Christmas

I've decided to just make Christmas cards today and here is one that I started last week and have finally finished. I made the background using my Tombow Markers to colour my stamp as I wanted a soft background. I've used the latest sketch for inspiration from Tuesday Morning Sketches and over at Christmas Cards All Year Round they want bling...whether its glitter, pearls or diamantes anything that sparkles or shines. You can't really see my glitter but it is there and a few diamantes on the sentiment too. Pop on over and play along, I'm off to find another challenge hope your weekend is off to a great start.

Our Beautiful World - Time

Hi All, this weeks theme at Our Beautiful World is TIME...this is a photo of the Town Clock in my city. The dome on top was removed in WW2 so it wouldn't get destroyed if we were bombed and then put back after the war. Another way of showing time is the fact that this building was our Town Post Office until the last decade or so and is now a Boutique Brewery and Restaurant.

This clock is in Venice, it is an amazing clock that shows you the time, date and horoscope sign. What amazed us the most is how old it is and the fact that it shows you all that information.

Another shot of a clock but this one is actually a mime artist (not sure of that is what you call them) and not a statue.
Another way to reflect time is the phases of the moon which this artwork/sculpture in Munich is displaying.

And last but not least...time is shown by aging which this truck has definitely done. It might not be shiny and new anymore but it still presents a lot of character.
Make sure you pop on over to Our Beautiful World and check out the other posts about time or even join in.

Well this card came about in bits and bobs...I had left over DI for colouring an image which wasn't working for that stamp but I didn't want to waste the ink so I sponged it onto a base card. The colour combo is from Color Throwdown which is really pretty and I love the photo they used for inspiration as we went to Venice a few years ago and absolutely loved it! But I digress...I then decided to use a new Tim Holtz stencil I picked up this week and....after that I didn't know what to do with
Anyway, I saw the latest sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and thought I might be able to use it for that but I struggled with it for a while and I'm not sure I'm completely happy with it even now but it came together in the end. I hope your weekend is off to a great start....thanks for popping in and until next time, happy stamping.

Anchors Away...

I bought an anchor die this week and was keen to use it so I have used the latest CAS(E) this Sketch layout for inspiration and over at Seize the Birthday they want String or Twine....a nice and simple card.

Special Friend

Well I've had my first go at watercolouring with no outlines...Heather over at Make it Monday has a tutorial video to show you how to do it,make sure you check it out, it's awesome. Now, I don't really 'do painting or the likes' but I am really enjoying using my DI's to paint and colour. I also don't really have any large flower stamps to colour like Heather has used so I had a go with these tulips and I got into the swing of painting them so much so I was painting my own tulips and extra grass and stems in. I have also used a new die I picked up on work trip this week...can't get enough of these text dies. Make sure you pop on over to Curtain Call too where they are celebrating their 1st Anniversary with 'Anything Goes'. Well I'm off to see if I can find another stamp suitable to do this technique again. Thanks for stopping by...

Live Laugh Love

Well sadly my craft time for this weekend is coming to an end...and I am finishing it off with a very different card to what I would usually make. I have really stepped outside the square here and taken up the challenge from Feeling Sketchy and The Card Concept. I think my card falls into the 'freestyle collage'...if not 'clean layering' hehe. Make sure  you pop on over and check the challenges out, I hope you have a great weekend with lots of stamping in it...until next time, happy stamping.

Card Sketch 94

Hello Friend...

Another card for my Stamping Saturday and this time I have been adventurous....I have been really liking the cards of late that have had some texture paste/gel added to their background so after much deliberating I took the plunge and bought me some....who know's if it is the right stuff but it worked for me!! I also picked up a new Kaisercraft Template-Tree around the same time with this technique in mind. So for Sketchbook Saturdays current challenge and for my first time playing at The Mixed Media Card Challenge I pulled them out to give them a whirl. I just used part of the tree in the corner of my card then coloured my card with Distress Inks (probably should have done this before I applied the gel...we live and learn), I also coloured the gel a bit too after it had dried and this is the end result! Very happy....I'm also adding my card to the latest challenge over at Virginia's View where the challenge is Die Cuts....thanks for stopping by...
