Painted Floral

For today's card, I started by smooching some colour onto my panel. I knew what stamp I was using, so I lightly drew some circles in the area of where the image would be and then smooched the colours to suit the stamp. I then added a touch of colour where needed and dried the panel off. Once dry, I added some white splatters to give it a bit of interest and then added my sentiment before layering it all together.

Arty Floral Birthday

Another card inspired by Tracy Evans - Snippet #36. I am really enjoying casing her Snippets and then putting my spin on the design. If it's a snippet that I really like, I am then making another to create a card. The background image was stamped with DO's Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade & Lumberjack Plaid. Some small text and shapes were added to the background and then the flower was restamped and fussy cut then popped up for some dimension with a leafy extra added. Once I was happy with it all, I added some splatter, a sentiment and then mounted it on black card.

Baby Girl

I don't make many baby cards but when I do, I gravitate towards this little elephant. Today's card was made for a family member who is expecting their first child. They know it's a girl which is why I went with the pink theme. I created the background by smooching some DO Picked Raspberry which I dried off and then swiped a stencil with the same colour, spritzed the stencil with water and applied some of it to the base. I didn't want the whole card to have the stenciled image, so I just placed a part of it in the center of the card. I then stamped my image, water coloured it withe DO's, fussy cut it and mounted it to the panel. I did the same for the sentiment which I kept simple but coloured with Copics and then I layered the card to complete.

Make a Wish

Today's card was inspired by a Tracy Evans Snippet #20. I have been playing along with the Snippets when I can and I really liked this design. This background was a second generation stenciling that I kept and because I was so happy with how my spin on Tracy's design turned out, I decided to make a card out of it.

Joy

Today's card took longer than I thought it would. Firstly, I die cut my JOY sentiment and bauble. I then cut the 'o' out of joy so I could add my bauble in its place. I then used gilding flakes - gold and silver to embellish my text. I adhered them to my red base panel and added an embossed border top and bottom and then to finish off, added a sub sentiment.

Critter Christmas

Today's card was inspired by a You Tube video by Therese Calvird...I don't really 'do' critters so I had to go hunting for some because I loved Therese's idea of turning them into a Christmas theme, the mouse is my favourite but love how the others turned out as well. I just kept them all clean & simple and dug out and dusted off my circle dies to make the images a focal point.

Magical Season

Today's card was created by blending my panel with Distress Oxides Crushed Olive & Mowed Lawn, then stamping my Pine bough in the top left corner with DO Rustic Wilderness. I then cut out a smaller panel from the original and layered it on a panel of white. I stamped my sentiment and adhered the top two panes and layered them onto the bottom panel ensuring the leaves lined up.

I created today's card by stamping a partial of a mandala stencil. I also inked the stencil partially with an assortment of DO inks. To finish it off, I added my sentiment and layered it onto black card.

A Beautiful Day

For today's card I created a template with 3 windows cut out. I then masked the area around the windows to ensure the blended ink colours stayed in their space as well as the stamped images.
Layered it onto black card and added a small sentiment.

Pastel Blends

I created today's card by stamping a collection of flowers and embossing them with White Embossing Powder. I then blended Saltwater Taffy, Carved Pumpkin & Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks over the panel and die cut the piece I wanted to use. I then die cut a smaller panel and used foam tape to give it some height before putting it back into its original location. I die cut my sentiment out of a bit of the blended scrap, layered it onto its base of white card and added a sub-sentiment and a white butterfly to finish it off.

Gilded Flight

I have been inspired to create this card after watching several of Christine Stokes You Tube
videos, see here
I firstly used an embossing folder to create my background. I swiped the embossed side of the EF with DO's Black Soot, I then mixed a bit of Brusho's Turquoise with water and painted the whole background.
After drying the panel, I then brushed some Pearl White Perfect Pearls over the panel and finished it off with some Simon Hurley Gold Lunar Paste that I applied using my finger.
Once I die cut the section I wanted to use, I did have to run it through my Cuttlebug in the EF again to re-emboss the image as it flattened a bit when I die cut my feature panel.
I then used a bit of the left-over card, selected the part I wanted to use and stamped my bird using my Misti, I die cut the bird and then re-stamped the bird to redefine the outline. I only put the Pearl White Perfect Pearls on the bird and not the Gold Luna Paste so that it didn't blend into the background and then mounted all the layers. I added a sentiment & sub-sentiment that I had laying around to finish it off.
